Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting :

ARFF

Mission Statement:

To ensure the protection of life and property through effective and efficient delivery of professional Aircraft Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services to the Airport Community.

Vision Statement:

Provide Excellent emergency response and fire prevention to protect people, programs, facilities, and our community from the adverse effect of fire, release of hazardous material, aviation and industrial injuries.

Personnel

Saipan International Airport ARFF department consist of approximately 35 personnel. The department runs two 24 hour shifts (A & B) with about 14 personnel assigned to each shift with an average of 9 personnel on-duty per shift daily. A Fire Captain is in charge of each shift.

The departments administration consists of the Fire Chief, Assistant Fire Chief, Secretary, Training Officer, Training Coordinator, Fire Inspector/Logistics, ARFF Chief Mechanic, and ARFF Mechanic. All working regular 40 hours work weeks.

The Fire Chief reports to the Executive Director and Deputy Director of the Commonwealth Ports Authority.

West Tinian Airport

West Tinian Airport ARFF department consist of approximately 10 personnel.  Personnel have dual roles as ARFF and Ports Police officer.  The ARFF Operations runs three 8 hour shifts (Day, Swings, & Mids) with an average of 2-3 personnel on-duty per shift daily.

A Fire/Police Captain runs the daily operation for both Law Enforcement and ARFF protection for the airport.

The Saipan Airport Fire Chief is responsible in assisting the West Tinian Ports Manager in ensuring that all ARFF personnel are current in training, operational, and technical requirements.

Rota International Airport

Rota International Airport ARFF department consist of approximately 15 personnel.  Personnel have dual roles as ARFF and Ports Police officer.  The ARFF Operations runs three 8 hour shifts (Day, Swings, & Mids) with an average of 2-3 personnel on-duty per shift daily.
